Arkansas Sales Tax Calculator (updated March 30, 2015)
This calculator will assist in calculating the sales tax on an amount sold, either by the pre-tax or
post-tax option, based on the city where the sale occurs.
The pre-tax option allows you to add sales taxes to the sale
price of the item(s). For example,
if you sell an item in Little Rock and the price of the item is $10.00, you
would add sales tax of $0.90, for a total price of $10.90.
The post-tax option allows you to set a fixed price that
actually includes the sales taxes.
For example, if you want to charge an even $10.00 so you don't have to handle
change, the calculator will compute $0.83 (based on rates for Little Rock) is
required for sales taxes out of the $10.00.
1. Select either the pre- or post-tax option.
2. Enter the dollar amount of an individual item or the total amount of
sales in the amount box.
3. Select the Arkansas county conducting the
sale from the next box. If the page does not re-display automatically, press the GO button.
4. The page will re-display, showing the cities
available (including an option for "Unincorporated Areas") within the selected
county. Select the appropriate choice for the city, and click GO!
5. Calculated tax amounts will be displayed in the table.
